The Toyota Crown 70th Anniversary Exhibition: A Look Behind Its Enduring Journey

What image comes to mind when you hear the name Toyota Crown?
The Crown was originally conceived by Toyota founder Kiichiro Toyoda, who was passionate about enriching the lives of Japanese people by creating a car for the masses. Seventy long years after its birth, the Crown is still going strong. Now in its 16th generation, the Crown is Japan’s longest-running passenger car brand.
This special exhibition presents all 16 generations of the marque, tracing its evolution from its launch in 1955 to the present day in three distinct periods: foundation, maturity, and transformation.
The road has been full of twists and turns, but the Crown has managed to thrive for 70 years. What is its secret? This exhibition explores how engineers and designers have adapted the Crown to changing Japanese lifestyles while maintaining its unique identity, continuing the cycle of heritage and innovation through the decades.
